Each placemat has attentively been shaped by hand in the mountain areas of Nepal. The finest, handpicked Nepalese wools are rubbed and pressed by hand with soapy water. By rhythmically pressing and moving the wool around it tightens the structure into the felted textile material and its desired shape. This is the most ancient technique of fabric making and demands the creative spirit of the craftswoman. Beautiful designs arise in the colour-fast natural dyed wool that comes in vibrant natural colours.
